The day Mike died, I left the hospital and got into my car. The car filled up with the smell of hundreds of roses, yet there was not a rose in sight. I knew then that he was in a better place.
When I think of you on Mother's Day, I imagine you in heaven with the beautiful smell of roses surrounding you. I know how much you loved your flowers.

It's hard to believe it's been 5 years since that night you left this earth. A day hasn't gone by without memories of you. I'd love so much to see your face or hear your froggy voice but that's not possible. I miss you and your love so much, especially the relationship we shared during your last 2 years.
There's only 2 places to go after this earth and I believe you made it to the right one. Unknowingly, you and circumstances led me to that belief. You know what life after physical death is now, how your spirit lives on forever. If prayers are answered, all of your family will get to the right place too.
You were the glue to our family, it hasn't been the same without you. We didn't mourn you as a family, I guess I'll never understand why. I'm thankful that you were loved so much by everyone and that they were there for you when you needed them.

Since Heaven has become your home I sometimes feel all alone; and though we now are far apart you hold a big piece of my heart. I never knew how much I'd grieve when it was time for you to leave or just how much my heart would ache from that one fragment you would take. God lets this tender hole remain reminding me we'll meet again, and one day all the pain will cease, when He restores this missing piece. We are connected, my Mother and I, by an invisible cord not seen by the eye. It's not like the cord that connects us at birth, this cord can't be seen by any on earth. This cord does its work right from the start, it binds us together, attached by the heart. I know that it's there though no one can see this invisible cord from my Mother to me. The strength of this cord, it's hard to describe, it can't be destroyed, it can't be denied. It's stronger than any cord man could create, it withstands the test, can hold any weight. And though you are gone and you're not here with me, the cord is still there though no one can see. It pulls at my heart, I am bruised, I am sore, but this cord is my lifeline as never before I'm thankful that God connects us this way, a Mother and Child....death can't take it away.

Hi Mom,
Thinking of you & wondering if you are there with Paulie, Michael, Billy, Eleanor, Aunt Marie, Aunt Helen, your Mom & Dad, Jim Walker, (not murph) and all your other family, friends and assortment of animals.
It's times like these where we think of our departed loved ones and the fond memories of the good times. I'm sure you're in a place where the beer is cold & not the other place where the beer is hot. Don't tell GOD that you can do all the stuff that you can do because they may make you do all the maintenance in heaven. A little sewing is OK but leave the drapes to Mike & the plumbing to Paulie.
Anna & I are doing our best not to join your gang right now, as you probably know. When it is our time we'll have a lot of new stories to tell you and we can rehash over a lot of old stories. You probably have some stories to tell us too.
I have to go now but I want you to know that while you are not here in person you will always be in our hearts & minds.
If roses grow in Heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me, Place them in my Mother's arms and tell her they're from me. Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, Place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile. Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, But there's an ache within my heart that will never go away.
